Six girls. Six young actresses selected during a series of seminars in the East- Central Europe carried out by Koreja. Six young women meet in one of the crossroads of the present. Those nonexistent places that we use to attend without seeing. Ola, Anna Chiara, Simona, Irina, Alessandra, Rosaria. Three of them are Italian, one is Polish, one is Bulgarian, one is Macedonian. Do they have common memories? Which stories can they tell and tell each other? And, most of all, do they have a common story to tell? Images, dances, musics, stories that blind impossible, mobile and fluid identities. Unpredictable sparks of sense. Everyone of them has outstanding accounts with their fathers.
Sorry daddy...sorry... I just wanted to know how much time i have... how much time i have to live...and how?
[...] I interviewed the six girls and i put their long recordings on tape. More than interviews, they are psychoanalytic sessions. I ask them to tell me when they have been really afraid and when they have felt safe in their life. The fear is the dominant feeling nowadays. Because we own so much. Mostly material things. So we are afraid that the others, the rest of the world, to whom we have stolen what we have, will submit us the count. We are afraid to loose all. I ask to the six girls to tell stories, i don't ask for opinions. Thus different stories come out: if one has lived for six, seven years under the communism, she has different fears and desires than one who descends from Alexander of Macedon. For these girls is very important to tell about their father. Their fathers... back to Alexander of Macedon. And the word father has the same semantic root than the word fatherland [...] Gabriele Vacis

[...] Six girls [...] it's impossible not to feel the pressing desire of telling in the bodies ready to tell [...] the first voice seems to come from everyone and anyone [...] you can not understand immediately who belongs the story told but for sure the story belongs to everyone of them. And the e-mail addressed to some fathers, written from a distance, probably from an airport while leaving to another place able to make move as far as possible from some fatherland which has not kept its promises. Similar words, father and fatherland, in the root and in the sense, also and maybe more in the question of promising and betraying [...] The excellent synchrony among the girls reveals the various semantic affinities giving birth to a Babel - woman who does not destroy but build and, if she unsettles, she does it for building again [...] The paradox and the irony able to melt the ice and expel the pain, coexist in Vacis's dramaturgy together with the soul lacerations while music, symbolically, marks the key moments of a performance long but fluid, by returning a quite adolescent dimension that keeps living in the background of the imaginary [...]
Paola Teresa Grassi (Krapp's Last Post)
Full of sense, identity and physical expression, looking for a lost present, the six young actresses (Macedonian, Bulgarian, Polish and three Italian from the South) on which Gabriele Vacis has sewn The Word Father, production marked by Koreja company and which debuted at the Amphitheatre of Ancona within Archeo.S Festival. A human performance shooting appeals to paternal figures, interrupted feelings even denied by intransigent males. It seems to have been inspired by a Kafkaesque Letter to the Father enlarged to a Babel tower made of women coming from East and South where the roots are linked to some nostalgic lyrics for the protective ex- communism ( where fathers and societies were "days of rain") and to the angry for the death of boyfriends and the unfeeling fathers. At the end, the appeal "How much time left to leave this way?" In front of a wall made of 198 big bottles of water.
